Turn the Radio Up (II)

Following Elinor's resignation from Radio WTWINN the station had to recruit a new broadcaster to do her mid morning show. Heather had been working as a freelance broadcaster for quite some time at the station and put in a good word for Nicole.
Following a short interview it was decided that Nicole was just the Twinn to keep what had become a very popular show top of the ratings.

Nicole was nervous, as she faced the microphone, but being a Lenora she had the boundless composure that Lenoras are supposed to have. The light turned red... and Nicole was live on air.
"Good morning dolls and doll lovers everywhere." she said confidently. "You are in the company of Nicole and listening to the Mid Morning Show. I have been asked to fill Elinor's shoes now that she has gone on to train as a beautician and makeup artist. There was only one Elinor and I will never be able to top her work, but I am going try to maintain the standards that she set and see whether we can keep this show up there in the ratings. To start the ball rolling I am dedicating this song to Elinor, and for music lovers everywhere....
Music was my first love
And it'll be my last
Music of the future
And music of the past.
To live without my music
Would be impossible to do
In this world of troubles
my music pulls me through.

That was off the album "Rebel" by John Miles and is all the way back from 1976 and I know it speaks to all us music lovers. The next item on the show is dedicated to all cats and cat lovers out there, but is also in memory of those Kitties that are no longer with us. I call it "The Tuna Report," or, as we know it here. "The Vissie Report"
|
 |
Cats all around the world gathered at the loudspeakers of radios everywhere to hear "the fish report" The kitties at Tumbling Twinns were no exception and Coalface, Lithium, Fuzzface and Jinx listened attentively to Nicole.
"Tinned Tuna prices continue to be high, with Light Meat in Brine averaging over R12.00 for a 170g tin. Bargains are still available, but you really need to shop around for those special offers. No Name Brand Tuna is bottoming out at R7.99 while Cape Point has been spotted on the shelves at R6.99 at the Greedy and Grubby Supermarket. Remember that Tuna in oil is a no-no and look for tins that have the Dolphin Friendly logo on them. Buying in bulk is the way to go, but when one has their own tin opener temptation is always great. So Kitties, get out there and rub yourself against legs and make plaintive meow noises. And that concludes our tuna report for today. Tomorrow we will be running the Bone and Steak report, especially for all our canine friends."
A chorus of meows and purrs greeted the tuna report and people all over could not understand why their cats had suddenly started winding themselves around their legs while purring. Nicole continued, "and, to round off our tuna report here is one of my personal favourites by Al Stewart..."
But the drum-beat strains of the night remain
In the rhythm of the new-born day
You know sometime you're bound to leave her
But for now you're going to stay
In the year of the cat

"Ah, they don’t make music like that anymore. And now we cross over to Justyn who will give us a quick news breakdown as we head towards 11.15. Over to you Justyn.".

 |
"Thank you Nicole, and I would like to say welcome to Radio WTWINN from the news desk. And now, breaking news for today,
South African Paralympics Team arrives home with a bag full of gold.
Massive bail out plan for crashed investment banks.
Zim talks grind to a halt - again.
Rand rises over R8 to the greenback.

We will be back at the top of the hour for our midday news and economics brief and the traffic. Stay tuned to Radio WTWINN for brighter broadcasting. Back to you Nicole."
"Thanks Justyn, I wouldn't say that there is a lot of good news out there today, I just hope you manage to find us some by midday. Turning to our fax machine; I have just received a fax from Elinor who says..."
"Dear friends,
It was very strange listening to somebody else presenting my old show, but it was also great to hear a fresh new voice and that great music. Thanks to everybody who supported the show over the months and I hope you will continue to tune in everyday to Nicole. I know that I will. Nicole, will you please play a song for my Kelsey mold sister Amanda who was very upset at my leaving. Tell her that we will always be Lovable Sisters and there is nothing that anybody can do about it. And keep up the good work Nicole. "
"Thanks Elinor, and you must let us know how it goes out there. This tune by Night Ranger is another of those goodies that I have dragged out of my Mouldy Oldy Collection, and its dedicated to Amanda and all the Loveable Sisters as well as any other Twinns out there who have just found themselves in new homes."
Sister Christian
Oh the time has come
And you know that you're the only one
To say O.K.
But you're motoring
You're motoring
"Wow, they don’t make songs like that anymore.... And now, our mid morning guest in the studio is somebody that has made a name for herself in the unlikely sport of extreme ironing. However let us first go to the marketplace with this word from our sponsors."
