Madam Heel goes to Jail

Madame Heel was sentenced to many many many years in prison and was transferred to the maximum security wing at Birdwood Prison.

Louise was very hesitant to visit her, fearing that her mother would vent her frustrations at being locked up on her. However, the authorities finally requested her to go see Madame Heel, or 248524301 as she was now known and reluctantly she made the long trip to where the grim Victorian style prison was. After entering its doors she was taken to the visitors section, the smell was of carbolic soap, sweat, fear and cabbage. She entered the caged vistors section of the prison and waited for Madame Heel to appear.

"Louise! I am so glad to see you. You look so well."
"Thanks mother, you seem to be doing OK for yourself too."
Madame Heel fingered the orange jumpsuit she wore, it's a "Hucci" you know and pure silk. I have had it customised by the seamstress here, she used to be a famous designer until they caught her with her fingers in the till. You meet such interesting people in here. I saw your fathers mistress the other day, she is doing 25 years for burglary of a jewellers shop."

Louise changed the subject. "You do know that the Carruthers Building has been finally demolished?"
"Oh yes, I heard about it all at the trial, shameful that the owners let it go down like that."
"But mother, you were the owner!"
"Oh yes, I forgot about that."
"They have also cancelled Musical Malarky."
"They have? it's a pity because it was a great show, I always said they should have spent more on the prizes."
"But mother, you were the one that trimmed the budget so much that they wouldn't give out better prizes."
"I did? Oh, in that case maybe its better that they cancelled the show."

Louise wondered why was her mother so forgetful. "I see that you arent using so many chocolate cigarettes anymore."
"Oh yes, I had to give them up, but I trade with them now, a packet is worth a lot of privileges and I almost have enough stored away to get my hair styled."
"I can't believe it, you are still wheeling and dealing!"
"It''s all I know my child, ever since I was a little girl I have wheeled and dealed, it was the only way I could be better than those who made fun of my name."
"Your name? but your name is Hi."
"It's not really Hi., I shortened it to Hi as soon as I could. My real name is Hippolyta. It's a real burden having a name like that. People kept on calling me Hippie and Hippo! Of course with a surname like Tamus it was bound to become a problem."
Louise was struggling not to laugh. "At least you never gave me such a bad name. Louise is quite pretty."
"I never intended to do what I did Louise, I was so busy trying to be better than everybody else that I forgot what a pretty daughter I had, and I neglected you so much. I am truly sorry for what I did."
And at that moment Louise saw Madame Hi Heel had an armature, just like she did.
"If you can feel it in your armature to forgive me I would like it if you came to visit me regularly."
"I will mother, after all, you are my mother and I do think you can be a better person."
The bell rang for the end of the visiting session. Louise stood up, "Is there anything I can bring you when I come next time?"

"Chocolate cigarettes, Chanel number 12, and the financial times!!! I am sure I can get my cell painted out and maybe start dabbling on the stock market again."
Louise laughed, "You havent changed all that much mother, you just dress worse"
Madame Heel smiled sheepishly "Bye bye Louise, I look forward to your next visit."
"Me too mother, me too."
