Sledding Time

The next morning was cold and Taryn did not feel like getting out of bed and just clung to her quilt and shivered. "it's c-c-c-c-o-o-lllddddd!!"

Outside everything was covered in snow and Taryn could hear some of the Twinns were already having fun.
Cammie and Randy had already been up and down the slope 10 times that morning, "Caities are always ready for adventure!" Cammie had explained when Randy offered her a ride. "This is fun!"
"Yes it is, I just can't believe all those Emmas listened to the groundhog. Up till now the only ones they listened to were the crocs."

Paris was watching from the safety of a cleared up patch. "Would you like a ride Paris?"
"I would like to go with you Randy but I don't want to get my pretty new boots all messed up." Paris said, pulling her coat closer.

"Come on, lets go rouse those Emmas. They have been in bed way too long". Cammie suggested. "And I think you should get your scarf, hat and a new sweater Randy. Its pretty cold out here."

When he returned with his warmer clothing Randy noticed that Taryn, Carin and Kerry had finally come outside. They waved at Randy as he climbed up the slope.

"Hi Girls, enjoying the snow?"

Randy shot past on his sled. "Wow, look at him go!" Kerry said.
"The big showoff, he is just trying to impress us." Taryn said.
"I think somebody is upset because they had to borrow scarves and gloves from other Twinns because they listened to a groundhog wearing a top hat."
"Ok, Ok, I was wrong, I apologise." Taryn admitted, "Now can we build our snow croc and get back inside before my teeth shatter from shivering?"

Later that morning, when everybody had gone inside for toast and hot chocolate, Randy and Carlisle inspected the snow croc that the Emmas had made.

"Not a bad effort." Carlisle said.
"Not as handsome as you are Carlisle."
"Ah well, there is only one Carlisle you know Randy."
"That's true, and those Emmas should have listened to the crocs instead of Ralph the Groundhog."
"Well, after that party I doubt if Ralph was in a fit state to forecast the weather." Carlisle shivered, "this cold is making my blood sluggish, and a sluggish croc is easy meat for a mutant radish."
"It's been a great day so far, how about one last ride Carlisle? then we can go inside and tease Taryn."
"Ok, but just this last one, and then we go inside and see if they left us any toast. I wouldn't want us to miss out."

And so Randy, Cammie, Paris, Carlisle, the 3 Emmas and the other Twinns had had a last peak at Winter, hopefully it would start warming up soon and Taryn could go dig out her shorts once again. Randy would store his sled and soon be looking wistfully at the swimming hole, just waiting for his chance to make a cannonball and wet those Emmas thoroughly.
