The Arrival of Elinor

One fine morning Brenda was busy setting up her new Crystal Ball when Amanda came strolling along. "Good Morning Brenda.' Amanda said, "That's not your usual Crystal Ball?"
"Good Morning Amanda. No it's a new one I have on trial, The Crystal Ball MarkIV. It's supposed to be as good as the old fashioned kind but with added functionality."
"Improved?"
"That's what they say in the literature. It's supposedly USB enabled and can connect to the computer if need be, it also has a built in MP3 player."
"Wow, all this high tech stuff can get very confusing." Amanda admitted. "But can it see the future?"
"I don't know yet Amanda, I haven't worked out how to get it to go on."
"Seeing as it is USB enabled I suspect the computer needs to be running for it to work." Brenda said.
While the computer booted up Brenda and Amanda exchanged idle chitchat. "Aha, there, Windows has detected it, lets see if anything happens now."
Naturally nothing happened. "I think it's faulty Brenda."
"No wait, let's see what the instruction manual says."
"Wow Brenda, I don't know about you but I have no idea what those instructions actually say." Amanda said.
"That makes 2 of us, I think we should ask Jennifer when we see her again, maybe she can shed some sort of light on the matter."
"Look, something is showing up in the ball Brenda, what do you see?"
Brenda peered at the image inside the crystal ball. "It looks like....."
"A My Twinn box. The image is a bit fuzzy, but I think what the crystal balling, or should I say crystal ball is trying to say is that there is a box on its way here."
"Oh goodie. Another Twinn on her way?"
"That's how I would interpret it Amanda. I just wonder who or what it could be? I can't think of anybody on her way here."
"Well, Jennifer said that Rory said that Elinor said that she had gotten a fortune cookie which read "Far from the land of winter snow, to Africa you soon will go."
"Elinor is a Kelsey Amanda, so if she is coming here that will be a big boost for the Kelsey presence."
"I know, isn't it exciting? just think, another Kelsey."
"Well, let's not count our chickens before they hatch. For all we know this crystal ball is doing a bit of wishful thinking. It's very difficult to foretell the future."
"Or predict those lottery numbers Bren."
"That's also true, in fact if you..." Brenda's sentence was interrupted by a knock on the door. "I wonder who that could be? everybody is out today."
"Maybe somebody forgot her key?"
Brenda and Amanda went to the door and opened it.
Justyn was standing outside with a huge box and a Twinn. "Hi Brenda, Hi Amanda, look, I found this Twinn at the postbox. She looked kind of lost so I brought her home."
"Elinor Valentine? is it you?" Amanda asked, slightly amazed that her and Brenda had just been talking about a new Twinn.
"Hi Amanda, hi Brenda. A strange thing happened to me last week."
Brenda laughed, "You opened a fortune cookie?"
"Gee Brenda, you really can read minds. How did you know I was going to say that?"
"The Astonishing Brenda knows all!" Justyn joked.
"Actually Rory told Jennifer who told Virgina and Caitlyn who told Dawn who mentioned it to Victoria who discussed it with Sarah who asked me about it. It seems if the only ones who don't know about it are Justyn, Skye and Heather."
"I think you should come inside Elinor and you can tell us more about what happened. I will help Justyn with the box and we can see about getting the rest of the gang home so that they can meet you." Amanda said.
"That sounds great, I am really bushed, these long flights are a killer."
And so Elinor Valentine became a member of Tumbling Twinns. She had a lot to tell everybody, and goodies for everybody too. And while they waited for the rest of the Twinns to get home Brenda posed Elinor and Amanda together so that they could add the moment to their photo album.
And when the rest of the Twinns arrived they all clustered around the new arrival, eager to hear her story and find out about their freinds back at the Continuum. Then they settled down for a traditional snack of tea, biscuits and stories. Even Dawn was happy to see her. "Caities and Kelseys just love biscuits and tea." She said. And who are we to disagree?
