The Frontier Wars Memorial in Bathurst
These photographs were kindly taken by Ronnie Lovemore in June 2011, and are used with his permission. This memorial may be found in the grounds of the St John The Evangelist Anglican Church in Bathurst, Eastern Cape. The church is the oldest unaltered Anglican church in South Africa, and was a sanctuary in the Frontier Wars of 1834, 1846 and 1851 for hundreds of Settlers. The Church may be found in Donkin Terrace, Bathurst. Some images open in a new window. |
