Roodepoort Old Cemetery, Roodepoort
This old cemetery in Roodpoort has a mixed batch of graves, but sadly has been very neglected over the years. The area around it has also been neglected and it is a well known haunt for vagrants and the homeless. It was opened in 1895 and there are World War 1 and 2 graves in it and quite a few hand carved stones that generally date from the early 1900's. I revisited in October 2011 and the one office building had been totally wrecked. This cemetery can be found on Google Earth at 26° 9'58.26"S 27°52'25.64"E or Download the KMZ File
