The Katyn Forest Memorial in James and Ethel Gray Park in Melrose



This memorial sits on top of a grassy rise in the James and Ethel Gray Park in Melrose, between the Glenhove and Atholl-Oaklands turns offs on the M1. It commemorates the 14500 Polish prisoners of war that were massacred by Stalins assasins in 1940, as well as the Heroes of the Warsaw uprising, and the Polish Airmen who supported the home army, and the part played by members of the South African Air Force .
