The Delville Wood Memorials

  

There are 2 specific memorials I have in mind. The first being the one at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, and the second at the sight of Delville Wood in France. The photo's from Pretoria are my own and some are courtesy of Terry Cawood, while those from France come from a commemorative booklet that must have been issued when the memorial was opened. Sadly there is no copyright information or acknowledgements inside the booklet, and if anybody can please assist with this information I would be very grateful.

The memorial above has a central group of figures representing the theme of physical energy (represented by the war horse) and two nationalities of South Africa, British and Boer, with one hand clasped over the horse's back in friendship. This theme is present too at the memorial at Delville Wood in France
