The Anglo Boer War Pages: Casualties
|
How many people died during the Boer War is very difficult say, accepted figures vary between sources and at best all we can do is make a rough estimate based on what information is available. Its also difficult to quantify numbers of how many people died as a result of the war. There is also the large grey area that arises when you start dealing with the undocumented deaths and those who slipped between the cracks of officialdom. I doubt whether we will ever know the cost in lives in this war, which started out as a small war and rapidly escalated into a big one.
