Braamfontein Cemetery is unique in that it contains gravs and memorials from not only the two world wars, but from the Anglo Boer War as well. It's a wonderful old cemetery, heavy with history and stories to be heard. There is even a Victoria Cross holder buried here, as well as a number of famous people from Johannesburg's past. Sadly time is taking its toll and the stones are slowly crumbling and sagging, and I fear that unless something is done quickly we will loose this wonderful piece of history.
